DIG helps municipal governments be more transparent, accountable, and responsive to their constituents by building their capacity to apply democratic governance principles. We work with municipal governments on outreach to the populations they serve, collecting information on residents’ needs, prioritizing investments using participatory planning methods, and implementing inclusive programs and services.
DIG’s municipal government strengthening portfolio includes the Accountable Democratic Action through Social Cohesion (ADA) Program, the Global Program for Inclusive Municipal Governance (GPIMG), the Dakar Municipal Finance Program (DMFP), Municipal Waste Recycling Program (MWRP), and Urbis.
