USAID has extended the Kenya Integrated Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (KIWASH) Program, under which DIG serves as a subcontractor to DAI, Inc. DIG plays an instrumental role under KIWASH, having incubated 231 WASH enterprises in nine counties throughout Kenya with targeted technical assistance and training. Through DIG’s work, WASH enterprises have accessed first-time commercial financing, adopted computerized accounting and billing systems, and improved service provision for both basic and improved water. In addition to building on the successes already achieved under the program, in the final program year DIG will carry out a waterpoint functionality mapping exercise throughout the nine KIWASH counties.
