Program Associate (PA)

 

The Development Innovations Group (DIG), a Bethesda, Maryland-based international development firm, is seeking a well-organized, self-motivated individual for the position of Program Associate.  Ideal candidates will have exceptional administrative skills and enthusiasm for the field of international development.  Candidates with experience in WASH service delivery and other basic service delivery preferred. 

Activities for this position will include:

Program Support & Management:

·          Serve as the primary administrative backstopping support to DIG programs worldwide;

·          Liaise and communicate regularly with DIG field staff and consultants, as well as the DIG offices in Haiti, Kenya, Malawi, and Nigeria (and as needed, the Philippines);

·          Work with the project team to support and coordinate logistical and administrative requests from the field;

·          Process staff and consultant travel expense reports, staff reimbursements, and other funds requests; 

·          Support field personnel including shipping, housing, etc.

·          Maintain electronic and hard copy project files;

·          Work with Program Directors and Senior Program Officers to review monthly program financial reports in order to contribute to program financial success;

·          Conduct supplementary research pertaining to program activities;

·          Maintain DIG travel calendar as well as coordinate travel arrangements and insurance for DIG staff and consultants;

·          Assist in the writing, editing, and assembly of program progress reports and deliverables to contribute to their timely submission to donors and clients;

·          Maintain timelines of program deliverables in cooperation with Technical Leads, Chiefs of Party, Directors and Program Officers, and alert team of reporting requirements and deadlines;

·          Monitor and facilitate compliance with contractual requirements;

·          Update and maintain DIG contracts database;

·          Coordinate logistics and administrative arrangements for project meetings, workshops and seminars;

·          Update and maintain consultant database;

·          Provide logistical support for the Community of Practice website;

·          Other Duties, as assigned.  

Program Development:

·          Research for DIG technical areas; donor funding; and country and regional initiatives;

·          Regularly monitor USAID and other donor websites for procurement opportunities;

·          Monitor electronic newswires and external literature for industry-relevant news and information;

·          Participate in proposal writing, review and coordination as well as budget preparation;

·          Assist with maintaining and updating DIG website, social marketing and other marketing materials;

·          Update and maintain past performance references (PPR) database and corporate qualifications statements;

·          Update one-page summaries of DIG contracts (current and past projects);

·          Prepare supporting documentation for both technical and cost proposals;

·          Maintain DIG Registrations.


Requirements:

Ideal applicants have the following skills and experience:  

  • Interest in the field of international development
  • MA/ MS degree;
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience;
  • Strong administrative skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, detail and deadline-oriented;
  • Strong research abilities;
  • Knowledge of a foreign language desirable;
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, Internet, Twitter;
  • Knowledge of SPSS a plus (not a requirement).
