The Development Innovations Group (DIG), a Maryland-based firm, is
seeking a specialist to serve as a Communications Consultant with a core focus
on producing communications materials for USAID. The communications materials will
include project
fact sheets
, success stories, infographics, and brochures,
among other documents. The Consultant will develop knowledge and learning
products for public and USAID access. The consulting position will favor
applicants who have produced
facts sheets
for USAID, who have background
in international development, experience creating infographics, and who have
excellent English writing skills.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities
Events, Media, and
Publicity
Responsibilities will include
the following:

In consultation
with the relevant technical staff, design and deliver project
fact sheets,
policy briefs, knowledge products, and communications materials;
·
Develop and
produce compelling written content to showcase DIG’s programs’ experience,
expertise, and results; and
·
Support the
collection and/or selection of high-quality photographs with appropriate
content for reporting to USAID.
Other Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include

responsibilities, tasks, or activities assigned by DIG staff.
Qualifications Required
for Effective Performance
·
Education
: A bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in the
field of communications, public relations, graphic design, or a related area is
desirable. A Master’s degree in the related fields of journalism,
communications, or public relations is advantageous.

Prior Work
Experience
: The candidate is required
to have experience producing
fact sheets and
other communications materials for USAID and should demonstrate
familiarity with USAID media and branding policies. At least five years of
experience in the fields of public relations and/or corporate communications is
recommended.

Language
Proficiency
: The candidate is
required to be fluent in English and have excellent writing skills.
·
Job Knowledge
: Knowledge of MS Office software and other media
software packages (i.e., InDesign, Photoshop) is required. The candidate must
be capable of crafting messages targeting USAID, international development
organizations, and a variety of audiences.

Skills and Abilities
: Excellent written and oral English communication
skills and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate must have the
ability to produce project
fact sheets, as well as other communications
materials, for USAID. The candidate must also have the ability to create
infographics for the communications materials.
