Grants Program in the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam to
Reduce Plastics Pollution Entering the Oceans
Municipal Waste Recycling Program is a four-year, USAID-funded initiative
address the global problem of marine plastics pollution. The Program provides
grants and technical assistance to support promising municipal waste recycling
efforts in the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam, which, currently, are
experiencing problems with plastics waste entering the marine environment.
Municipal Waste Recycling Program will award grants of up to USD 250,000 to
support innovative and/or scalable solid waste management and recycling
activities that promote social inclusion, generate jobs and economic growth,
and strengthen climate resilience.
Program is open to non-governmental organizations (including for-profits) registered
in the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam as well as the United States.

will be reviewed quarterly. The first deadline for submission is no later than March

The Municipal Waste Recycling Program will also be holding workshops for organizations with an interest in reducing marine plastics pollution in Colombo, Sri Lanka from February 9-10, 2017 and in Manila, the Philippines from February 13-14, 2017. We will soon announce dates for an upcoming workshop in Vietnam.
